Ummm, you might want to clear your Facebook search tracks.Facebook Gear Activity Log

By now you know that all your online activity is tracked. I wandered into my Activity Log today and was surprised to see how many years of searches were there.

If you don’t know where it is, click on the gear in the upper right hand corner when you are logged into Facebook. Choose Activity Log and choose More to see all your activity by category. WAY at the bottom is Search. Take a look at what your stalker self has been up to.

No one can see this but you. It can be useful if you’d like to look at something you’ve forgotten about. But if you’d like to clear it, at the very top of the page is Clear Searches.

Go ahead and take a look. I’ll wait.

Freaked out? I won’t tell anyone what you searched for ;)

    Hi Kerry,

Thank you for your post. I went into my FB account and looked at my Activity Log. However, I did not see any button or link to clear it. Where would I find this?

      You are welcome!
Once I was in the Activity Log, I had to choose the word More (left hand column shows All, Timeline Review, Tag Review, Your Posts, Posts You’re Tagged In, Posts by Others, Posts You’ve Hidden, Photos, Likes, Comments, MORE) to see all the categories. At the very bottom is Search. Once you click on Search, your history appears in the center of the screen. In the upper right hand corner is Clear Searches. You can see it in the screen shot in the blog.
