I was honored to be featured on the front page of the Press Democrat on Monday June 17, 2013. The article, “Experts: Your online trail could put reputation at risk“ was a well written reputation management piece by Mary Callahan. She and I had had several conversations over many months about what a compromised online reputation means for you personally and professionally. The subject matter falls in line with the book I wrote, “What You Don’t Know About Social Media CAN Hurt You: Take Control of Your Online Reputation“, which is a explanation not only of basic social media concepts but also includes a step-by-step action plan for making changes to what you find about yourself online.
I think this subject is so important and, unfortunately, many people are worried about what they’ll find and have no idea what they will do to make a difference. Don’t worry, you can improve it for practically no money, you just need the information on how to accomplish it.
Congrats Kerry for your front page article and for covering such an important topic as “reputation management”.
I have been preaching for years, as a business and marketing consultant exclusively for the global travel and hospitality industry, that word of mouth always has been and always will be, the #1 most trusted form of advertising.
Managing your reputation as you – and the customer service that most remember and comment on – is an ACTIVE process.
Keep up the good work.
