Illustrious Panel to Include Sir Ken Robinson and Dale Dougherty
Santa Rosa, CA – Respected social media consultant Kerry Rego will speak at the sold-out ieSonoma conference with Sir Ken Robinson, a leader in education, development and innovation who recently gave the most watched TED talk of all time with over 20 Million views. Rego has been on the forefront of tech trends as they’ve emerged and was asked personally by the Sonoma County of Education to participate in this event – it is befitting as she’s been consulting with business leaders and education decision makers for years. Rego is highly concerned with the state of education in relation to technology; the US student population is currently severely behind the rest of the world in the field. Microsoft, for example, has 4500 jobs available at any given time but due to a lack of skilled workers including a surprisingly low number of Sonoma County students who are tech ready they continue to struggle to fill those positions. The panel will address these issues and more at the conference on June 10th 2013 at the Jackson Theater (Sonoma Country Day School). Tech companies are now lobbying to ease immigration regulations to help fill jobs in America because of the lack of competent applicants. Rego is on a mission to correct the discrepancy and help both her clients and community overcome this shortcoming. She says, “Our society’s “technophobia” is not going away and almost everything (every job) today is wrapped in a technical task – we must overcome this to survive and thrive in our changing world.” Rego also works with clients to manage their reputations and provide strategic plans to put a company’s best foot forward on the web.
