If you aren’t familiar with the Sonoma Small Business Development Center, please check out their website. Your tax dollars go towards the Small Business Administration (SBA) annual budget and that money is divided up by state and territory. The budget for your state/territory runs through an SBDC, a non-profit designed to manage the funds and provide services to small businesses.
Great Resource
The Sonoma SBDC is a part of the greater NorCal SBDC network, funded by SBA tax dollars. They work to support entrepreneurs and small businesses with tools and insights to start, grow, and pivot their businesses. They offer free business consulting as well as several different types of services. These include workshops, business evaluations, coaching and much much more! If you are a small business owner or have a dream to have a start up, this is a resource I highly recommend!
Small businesses create two-thirds of net new jobs and drive U.S. innovation and competitiveness. Small businesses are the lifeblood of the U.S. economy. With each business they help, there is a family one-step closer to realizing their potential. The work of Sonoma SBDC contributes to the greater impact in the Northern California region – through new businesses, jobs, and community impact.
My Experience with SBA & SBDC
I used their services multiple times over the years and was helped by Janet Wentworth. I learned so much about my goals, desires, and business approach that I am a big fan of what they do. They receive funding from several sources and it’s at risk! Please speak to your elected officials to make sure that these services are available to all of us.
I wrote about my great experience with the SBDC and you can read the Secret to My Success to understand its value to my business.
